While writing my response to your comment on my spooky song I realized I hallucinated a comment for this one. I am so incredibly sorry for not realizing it until now.

I know I say this a lot, but this has to be one of my favourite pieces of yours. The way you blend textures and convey emotions is incredible in this one. Your composition skills improving so quickly.

I love the juxtaposition between the first and the second half. Right as I thought the piece couldn't get any better, you throw in a snare drum! I love every bit of this. If I were to give a piece of feedback, I would say that 01:42 - 02:20 could have been done a bit better. I'm not quite sure how to describe it but it sounds a little bit hollow. Maybe strings to fill out the mids a bit could have helped with making it feel a bit more impactful and full. Though I do know you wanted to avoid strings. Perhaps treating the clarinets and bassoons in that section as though they were the strings. I also struggle with making sure the volume doesn't get too loud. Lowering the volume but adding more motion seems to usually work, but in this case, it may not.

The transition at 02:18 - 02:23 is amazing I love it so much. 10/10 dentists recommend. The weaving in and out of instruments as they take the melody is amazing and I love it when songs do that. You pull it off so effortlessly it's genuinely inspiring.

02:49 is also absolutely golden. I love its shift in tone towards something a little more mysterious and playful. Also, I love the sax. I often forget that it's a woodwind instrument xD. I'm certain most people don't know that.

It's a shame that as of writing this, only 1,700 people have heard of this absolute masterpiece. I think it may be more enticing if the description wasn't "Another piece made for my friend" since it doesn't really say much of what the piece actually is. As an example, Warbird's description was "One of my greatest pieces yet". You could probably tell why more people clicked on Warbird initially. It's a shame though since I love this piece as much as I love Warbird. The fact that Warbird is about to hit 7k listens is incredible.

Once again I am very sorry for the grossly late review. This one just slipped my view somehow.

At 1:42 I took some inspiration from a music concert I had recently attended which involved only a sax playing extended very loud long notes and a synthesizer filling in the rest of the sound. I personally loved the way that sounded and wanted to incorporate it into one of my pieces. As a result I resisted the urge to fill out the ensemble with more string instruments besides bass, since I tend to do that a lot and I wanted to try something more wind based. There are a lot of moving parts in that section, though the sax might be a bit loud preventing you from hearing them.

I don't consider this piece to be even close to the same calibre as warbird. I could have chosen a similar description but that would've been disingenuous in my opinion. But I could've chosen something a little more mysterious like "a sign of our times" or some bs like that. But warbird and Nevada are such a league above this it's not even funny. This was meant to be sort of a filler piece, I didn't even expect it to get FP tbh. Had to rush it to get it done by my friend's birthday.
