You look at huge artists like the fat rat or f-777, once titans of the platform, departing and moving on to these far more restrictive sites and think “I wonder why they left newgrounds, which is how they became successful in the first place”. I have been involved with the site for almost 3 years now and first heard about it via geometry dash way before then; would never consider posting my songs anywhere else at this point, although if they begin to gain thousands of listens I may consider it. I just don’t want to have to deal with the copyright stuff and would rather easily post them here.

I just want to spread my music as far as possible. I don't care about getting popular, I just want people to hear my music.

I agree. I’m less concerned with numbers and more concerned with how my hobby benefits me personally and how it benefits others. As an artist, it’s crucial that we do what we do for ourselves first and foremost, else we be dragged down into considering it a chore over something enjoyable.

Yeah, that's why my upload schedule is when ever I want to. Also, the whole point of music is for the enjoyment and entertainment for others AND yourself. That's why you probably won't see me suddenly changing my style to specifically one genre. If I like a song then I'll upload it. But yeah, even if you have a fanbase and everything, if you hate what you're doing then you best stop. I will try to do everything in my power to avoid music becoming a chore and I hope you do too. It's like 4 am while I'm writing this so I hope I'm making sense.
